A 1st person narrative is full of amusing asides as Martin has to confront irate guests,dishonest staff and Head Office Executives who are very demanding. His life is made tolerable by an attractive, feisty Travel Guide who stays in the hotel. Her street wisdom and North American humour lighten an otherwise intolerable burden. From chaos, order is eventually restored.
